Description

Our Vento Model 8906 Oboe  is an terrific instrument with great tone, solid construction and excellent intonation. When you first pick it up, it has the weight and feel of a professional wood oboe--this is due to it's unique construction.

It has many professional features, but also many features that especially benefit students. The body is a composite of grenadilla wood and resin, so you get the great sound produced by the density of grenadilla wood and the durability of a resin body.

It has a semi-automatic octave key, silver-plated keys, French cork and skin pads, and French steel springs. It has a professional-style wood shell case (small size!) with a nylon case cover and internal accessory compartments. At the normal retail price of this is a great bargain; at our selling price,it is a steal!

In addition, each Vento oboe comes with a set of accessories. Our Vento oboes come with our complete 2-year warranty, and each is thoroughly tuned and tested prior to leaving the factory.

Player Tips

Remember to rinse your reeds with clean water after playing. (And of course, you should always brush your teeth before playing!)

Buy a real reed case; protecting your reeds from damage will save you much more than the reed case costs. The plastic storage tubes that reeds come in are not good for daily use - it is really easy to break your reed tip putting it in the tube. If you do have to use one of the tubes, cut ventilation holes in it to let the reeds dry out between playing sessions.

Keep a minimum of three reeds and rotate them.

Your reeds will last much longer if you follow these tips.
