Description

This Orpheo Bassoon has a high D key, covered wing joint, 3rd finger hole with plateau key, left hand whisper key connected to the low E key, automatic G-ring key, F to G# roller keys, and a F# to G# trill key. All posts are set with epoxy and the spring posts are locked with screws.

The body is made of patented resonite fusion, a 21st century composite compound selected for its sound quality, intonation, response, ease of maintenance and durability. This compound shows little loss in sound quality over Maple wood bassoons, and it will not crack. It isl likely to have less troublesome register changes than wood. The bottom boot cap is removable to access a water key that empties excess moisture from the boot. The keywork has 18% nickel silver key castings, nickel silver hinges and machined parts.

A deluxe plush-lined case with case cover and generous cloth blanket are included. In addition, each bassoon comes with two bocals, neck strap, wooden crutch, silk swab, and seat strap. Player Tips

Remember to rinse your reeds with clean water after playing. (And of course, you should always brush your teeth before playing!) 

Buy a real reed case; protecting your reeds from damage will save you much more than the reed case costs. The plastic storage tubes that reeds come in are not good for daily use - it is really easy to break your reed tip putting it in the tube. If you do have to use one of the tubes, cut ventilation holes in it to let the reeds dry out between playing sessions.

Keep a minimum of three reeds and rotate them.

Your reeds will last much longer if you follow these tips.
